Macon Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident

Kendall Herold

A Macon man is killed in a tragic motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon.

According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, 27 year old William Barr of Macon was killed instantly when his 2003 Honda CBR motorcycle struck a guard rail.

Jones says Barr was traveling on the I-475 Southbound entrance ramp off Zebulon Road around 12:50 pm.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says the motorcycle was riding alongside a Chevrolet C1500 truck. Jones says it appears the driver of the motorcycle was run off the road by the truck and struck a guard rail.

The driver of the truck continued on I-475 Southbound after the accident occurred.

Authorities are now on the lookout for a Gold Chevrolet C1500 truck.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 478-746-9441.
