Man Hit by Car en route to Gas Station

A local man is recovering after being struck by a vehicle Sunday morning in Macon.

Officers responded to the scene on Emery Highway, in front of the Ocmulgee National Monument, at 11:59 a.m. Sunday in response to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

A 74-year-old female was driving a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis when 35-year-old Dennis Williams ran into the roadway in front of her. Williams was headed to a gas station at Reese Street on foot when he was struck.

Williams is being treated at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. He is in critical but stable condition.
