NewsCentral Producer

A Macon man was robbed of $1,250 Tuesday, after a man with a gun kicked in his door and demanded the money.

Bobby Hess, who lives in a boarding house on the 100 block of Lamar Street, says he was visiting with friends in his room around 9:30 p.m. when the man, burst into the room. Hess had recently cashed in his tax return check, and was going to buy a car with the money on Wednesday.

Hess says the man yelled for him to give up the money and physically reached into Hess' pocket to remove his wallet. After he got the wallet the gunman then fled the scene.

According to a police report, Hess says the only people that knew he had the money were his two friends he was visiting with. One friend had left the room for 10 to 15 minutes then returned right before the robbery.
