Macon man charged with burglary, using fake name to evade police

Aaron Leedy

A Macon man is charged with burglary and other offenses after breaking into a business, then attempting to cover his identity by lying to police.

Raymond Romback is charged with burglary, false information, criminal trespass and forgery. Police say Romback used a fake name, Joseph Freeman, during questioning about a burglary on Walnut Street around 12:30 Monday morning.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm call. When they arrived, they found Romback sitting in front of the building next door. After further questioning, officers noticed dust from a broken window ledge on his shirt.
