NewsCentral Staff

MACON, Ga. (AP) - A courthouse in central Georgia is being renamed for a late judge.

A ceremony renaming the Bibb County Courthouse for State Court Judge J. Taylor Phillips is scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday. The Bibb County commissioners are expected to attend.

The commission voted last year to rename the building for Phillips. He first took the bench in 1964 and retired from full-time judicial work in 1998. He died at age 90.
