NewsCentral Staff

Macon Police say they now know the name of the suspect wanted in Monday's robbery of a local bank.

Macon Police Public Information Officer Jami Gaudet says the man has been identified as William Jeffrey Lowder, Junior. They have an arrest warrant in his name for one count of robbery by intimidation.

Police say Lowder strolled into the bank branch a little after 1:00 Monday at the SunTrust Bank on Mercer University Drive and handed the teller a demand note for money.

Gaudet says the 31-year-old suspect was just released from jail earlier this month.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Lowder, call Macon Police at 751-7500 or Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
