Macon and Bibb Co. Receive Grant to Help Promote Transparency

NewsCentral Staff

The consolidation of Macon and Bibb county is receiving funding to make the transition more transparent for neighbors.

The Knight Foundation donated $62,200 to the transition task force.
The money will be used to buy new equipment to stream all meetings online as well as archive them.
The grant will also fund a website dedicated to keeping residents informed about the consolidation of Macon and Bibb County.

"The $62,200 grant will help forward the transition task force's goal of creating a new, consolidated Macon-Bibb County
focused on serving the public, rather than merely merging the two existing governments," said Chris Floore, City of Macon
Director of Public Affairs.
