NewsCentral Staff

The conductor of the Macon Symphony Orchestra who has been on the job since March of last year is now parting ways.

Ward Stare has announced he plans to leave at the end of April. Stare submitted his resignation two weeks ago. CEO Sheryl Towers says when they found out he was leaving, they immediately started working on the new season. She says they wish him all the best.

"It was certainly disappointing to receive Ward's resignation. We're excited about all the successes coming his way and wish him the very best. We're also excited about the opportunities coming our way," said Towers.

Stare will conduct his final concert on April 27th. Towers didn't say why stare is resigning or who might take his place. But she did say they're preparing for next season with plenty of elements the community will love.
