Macon Police Department recaptures its Cherry Blossom title

The Macon Police Department (MPD) recaptured its title as Macon’s strongmen on Saturday, March 16 at the 2013 Cherry Blossom Festival’s “Pull for the House” event.

The MPD previously won the event in 2011.

The MPD’s 15-man team consisted of SWAT members, K-9 officers and the Downtown Bike Patrol Unit. MPD won the “General” division and nipped the 2nd place Expendables in the overall score by .34 of a second.

The contest benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia.
