A Macon County mother of three has won nearly $30K playing the Georgia Lottery.
Teporschne James of Montezuma won a $28,888 top prize playing the instant game White Ice 8’s.
James, 33, claimed her prize Tuesday at the Georgia Lottery’s District Office in Macon.
Barkers Market along Spaulding Road in Montezuma sold the winning ticket. She scratched her winning ticket in the parking lot while in her car.
“I called my husband. I always joke with him, so he couldn’t believe it,” she said.
An Albany State University sophomore, James will celebrate a birthday in February.
“This is a birthday present, and I feel great,” she exclaimed.
The lucky winner and her husband, Mark, plan to use a portion of the windfall toward their children and for home improvements.
