A five hour standoff in west Macon ended just before noon Monday.

Just after 7:00 a.m. Monday, Macon Police officers blocked off Ernest and Gordon Streets to motorists and pedestrians.

Macon Police Department Public Information Officer Jami Gaudet tells WGXA an officer answering a 911 call heard screaming and was threatened through a closed door at a home on Gordon Street.

Major Robert Grabowski tells WGXA the MPD Swat Team entered the home and removed a woman who may suffer from multiple personalities. Grabowski says the woman was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia by ambulance for evaluation.

Gaudet identified the woman as Linda Reynolds.

The MPD Swat Team, bomb disposal unit and other officers all responded to the scene. The case remains under investigation.
