Local Ministry Helps Less Fortunate

A Warner Robins ministry group helps the less fortunate in Central Georgia on Saturday.

The New Life Global Outreach Ministry hosted its second annual community giveaway behind the old Houston Mall. More than 500 people showed up to get free food, health screenings, clothes and back to school supplies. Pastor Doretha Rivers said her ministry reaches out to those overlooked by society and gives them some necessities to live.

"It's not enough just to give them the word of God, but we want to feed them as well and get them the things that they need along the way,” Rivers said.

Rivers said she expects the event to grow next year and is looking forward to the ministry hosting a Thanksgiving feeding in November.
