Local Ministry Helps Homeless at the Park

Word of Ministries hosted its third "Outpouring to the Community" event on Saturday at Central City Park in Macon.

The non-denominational outreach program offered free haircuts and food to more than 100 people that attended the event. While it's the ministry third time hosting the afternoon in the park, organizers said the more people that keep participating in it further motivates them to help the homeless in the area.

"I just want everybody to come together in fellowship,” organizer Rev. David Barber said. “Just outpouring to the homeless. Letting them know that there's still hope for tomorrow."

The event will now be held the last Saturday of every month at the park.
