NewsCentral Staff

The Warner Robins High School Marching Band hosted the 15th annual “Heart of Georgia Marching Band Invitational” on Saturday at McConnell-Talbert Stadium in Warner Robins.

The one day competition featured more than 20 high school marching bands from around the state. They competed for trophies and bragging rights. The competition raises money for the Warner Robins High School Marching Band. Event organizers said the invitational offers more than just competition.

"It's adding to the educational experience for the students,” Operations Vice President Cindy Kurtz said. “Both (in their) musical and marching capabilities through the years."

Organizers said the event will raise a few thousand dollars for the band and they will hold another competition next year.
