Local Farm Hosts Fall Festival

NewsCentral Staff

Lane Southern Orchards hosted its seventh annual “Fall Festival” on Saturday.

More than 3,000 people attended the one day event that allowed people to participate in seasonal activities like painting pumpkins and navigating a corn maze.-However, organizers said it's not all fun and games, the festival also shows people how produce is grown and gives kids an idea about different farming operations.

"It's a fun event for the whole family and it's educational as well,” Lane Southern Orchards President Duke Lane Jr. said. “It is an opportunity to showcase our business and to get people to come out here and see what we're doing.”

Some proceeds from the event will be donated to the Children's Hospital. Lane Southern Orchards will host its spring festival in April.
