Local bar and restaurant closes after 17 years

A popular bar and restaurant has closed its doors.

After 17 years in business, The Shamrock closed it's doors for good Thursday. Employees say the economy is to blame.

The Payne City bar and restaurant had 15 employees all of whom learned of the closure Wednesday. The Shamrock was originally opened on Wimbush Road before moving to the Payne City location 12 years ago.
