The Little League Softball Southeastern Regional Tournament is next week and restaurant owners are gearing up for the influx of people bound for Houston County.
Restaurants close to the fields like Johnny's New York Style Pizza usually experience heavy foot traffic after a game. To prepare for more people, assistant manager VonTavious Shine said they use an extra cook in the kitchen help get orders out on time and have plenty of servers on hand. Shine said the little league tournaments, are great for the restaurant.
"Increase in business,” he said. “Brought a lot of new customers, new faces and everything. It really gave us that family feel."
According to NewsCentrals media partner, The Telegraph, since 2010 the tournaments have generated more than $4 million into the area. The softball regional tournament begins next week with baseball kicking off on August 3.
