WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (AP) - State officials have revoked the licenses for two middle Georgia childcare centers, citing safety violations, lack of employee background checks and missing paperwork among the reasons why.
The Unique Tutoring and Individualized Children Academy was ordered to close in December by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. The company operates two facilities in Warner Robins.
Officials say a special needs child left one of the facilities on multiple occasions, children were transported to the daycare in vans that did not have proper safety restraints and an employee who had a criminal record did not undergo a background check as required.
The revocation will go into effect Jan. 18. A call to the owner of the childcare centers was not answered Friday.
