Laurens County teen dies in ATV accident

NewsCentral Staff

A West Laurens High School student has died after crashing his ATV Tuesday afternoon.

The Georgia State Patrol says 15-year-old Tucker Slaughter died when his four-wheeler crashed on Alcorn Road in Laurens County. GSP says Slaughter ran off the road and lost control of the ATV. A 15-year-old passenger was not injured in the accident.

West Laurens High School Principal Clifford Garnto says Slaughter was a ball player, a great student and an all around good kid. A special prayer service was held Wednesday morning at the high school.

Pastors and counselors are helping students cope with the loss.
