Largest First Year Mercer Class Moves In

College Hill and Mercer Village are bustling again as first year students begin their move in at Mercer University on Saturday.

The largest first year class ever at Mercer moved into the campus dorms and peer advisers said the more than 650 freshman and 125 transfer students were drawn to Mercer by the school's new football team and other programs. Parents and more than 200 volunteer students helped unload cars and move the freshman into dorms which many of them say stirs mixed emotions. Freshman will be participating in orientation activities all weekend to become acquainted with the campus. Classes begin on Tuesday
