NewsCentral Staff

One man is dead after an early morning accident in Houston County.

It happened around 2:40 Thursday morning near Kovac Road and Georgia Highway 247. 23-year-old Willis Varner of Kathleen died minutes after the accident.

Our media partner The Telegraph reports Varner and 19-year-old Clayton Reeves, also of Kathleen, were riding four-wheelers on the road. The ATVs made contact with each other, causing both to crash and flip.

Reeves left the scene of the accident and was later located. He was treated for road rash and minor injuries. Felony and other traffic charges are expected.
