June 2012 Murder Investigation Remains Open

NewsCentral Staff

Bibb County deputies still have no suspects in the case of a teenager shot to death in her home last year.

The case of Shar'Bora Yan’Kita Shy’rell Daniels, 18, is still an open investigation. The teenager was in her brother's room texting after midnight last June when a bullet went through the wall and hit her in the head. One bullet, at one house in a neighborhood that investigators said is typically quiet. The case is still open but deputies want help in solving the case.

"What we really need is some information from the public,” Captain Mike Smallwood said. “Somebody out there knows who did it, they're not talking."

Investigators are out of leads and don’t have a person of interest at this point. They are rechecking the details but suggest the shooting happened by chance.

"Definitely a random bullet, we feel,” he said. “We don't know why, why they picked that house or anything."

The public is encouraged to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office 478-746 9441 and for criminal investigation or for a possible reward call CrimeStoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME
