Judge rules lawsuit must also include Bibb Schools superintendent's name

NewsCentral Staff

A judge issued an order in a Bibb County man's suit to throw out school Superintendent Dr. Romain Dallemand's contract.

In court last month, Thomas DeFore argued that the school board vote that approved the superintendent's contract violated the state's open meetings law and that the contract contained items that were never approved by the board. DeFore's attorney also argued both Dallemand's original 2011 contract and the new 2013 contract violated the state constitution.

In Wednesday's order, Judge Edgar Ennis ruled that the lawsuit must also include Dallemand. DeFore has 21 days to add the superintendent to the suit.
