Joshua's Wish hosts walk to raise money for pediatric brain cancer research

NewsCentral Staff

A local non-profit organization raised money to fight childhood cancer on Saturday.

Joshua's Wish hosted its third annual walk at the Mercer Law School to raise money for pediatric brain cancer research. Trent Solomon and his wife started the event after their son, Joshua, died in 2009 from a brain tumor. Solomon said 46 children are diagnosed with some form of cancer each day. The walk helped fund research to find a cure and bring awareness to an issue some people may overlook.

"It affects us all especially with the littlest warriors, children, most people don't think about children developing cancer,” Event Organizer and Joshua's Dad, Trent Solomon said. β€œIt provides the education and the awareness as well.”

Solomon said he hoped to raise $20,000 which will go to hospitals around the country.
