Jones County mother and two sons displaced after fire

A Jones County mom and her two sons are without a home after a fire completely destroyed their house Friday morning.
Fire crews say they arrived on the 300 block of Lindsey Lane in the Jones Crossing subdivision around 8:30 a.m. to find the house fire fully involved. Five people were in the home when it began burning but all of them made it out without any injuries.
Twenty-seven-year-old Brittiney Etheridge says she was asleep with her 4-year-old and 10-year-old sons in a bedroom when she was awoken by smoke. After discovering the fire she temporarily lost contact with her children before finding them and running out of the house.
"I lost them, I couldn't find them, and they said, I would holler for them and they said momma momma, and I got them and we ran outside, my cousins were in there, one was already asleep on the couch and one was in momma's old bedroom, we were able to make it out okay, but now my children don't have no clothes, everything is gone, this has never happened," Etheridge said.
Jones County Fire Chief Don Graham says the fire appeared to have begun on a bed in one of the bedrooms. He was unsure of the cause, but noted that it wasn't the first time fire crews have been called to the home. The incident remains under investigation.
