Congressman John Barrow was sworn in Thursday for his fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He will represent several counties in central Georgia, including Laurens, Montgomery, Treutlen and Wheeler.
“It is a tremendous honor to represent the folks of the 12th District of Georgia,” Congressman Barrow told WGXA. “Our country faces some very serious challenges, and if the past has taught us anything, it’s that the hyper-partisanship has to stop if we’re going to accomplish anything in Congress. I’m an employee of the residents of the 12th District, and as we start the 113th Congress, I’ll continue to fight for them and work with folks on both sides of the aisle to ensure our families and businesses have the best environment possible to succeed.”
Congressman Barrow will continue to serve on the powerful House Committee on Energy and Commerce and will serve as the Co-Chair for Administration of the Blue Dog Coalition.
Congressman Barrow was first elected to the House in 2004.
