Is Dallemand Looking to Leave Bibb County Schools?
NewsCentral Staff
Less than two years into his stint as Bibb County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Romain Dallemand may be looking at an exit plan.
The Macon Telegraph cited 3 sources Wednesday evening saying Dallemand raised the idea of him buying out his contract. The conversation is alleged to have occurred last Thursday during a school board meeting.
According to The Telegraph, Dallemand says he thinks ‘it’s time for him to leave his post.’
The story breaks just a day after Bibb County Commissioner Joe Allen asked for a federal probe into the financial dealings of Bibb County Schools.
WGXA asked Allen what he thought of the prospect of Dallemand's departure.
Allen told WGXA, “Well that's just one part of the equation. There are other issues that are outstanding. That's not the whole picture. If he does that and that's what he wants to do, I'm still asking, as I've done, the Feds to look into it there are allegations. There will be other individuals…other situations that are involved.”
WGXA spoke to Bibb County School's Public Information Officer Donnie Porter Wednesday night but he said he wouldn't comment on the report.
The school board is set to meet Thursday afternoon.
