Investigators seek woman accused of scamming older people

Aaron Leedy

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman who was reportedly targeting and scamming money from older people in Middle Georgia.

Investigators say it was reported the woman approached individuals, and stated she knew them from their doctor’s office. The woman reportedly told them she needed money due to her vehicle leaving her stranded.

Investigators discovered that she is not an employee of any of the doctor’s offices that she has mentioned to the victims. The suspect is described as a white female with an average build with blonde hair.

She was reported driving an older gray colored van with a Peach County tag. One of the victims stated that she was driving a light colored vehicle, possibly a Ford Taurus. Witnesses also stated that she also has a white male passenger riding with her during some of the incidents.

This incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Investigator Tania Greer at 478-621-5675.
