An interstate accident backs up lunch hour traffic for motorists in Macon.

The accident happened just after noon on Wednesday during heavy rain showers and involved an 18-wheeler. Emergency responders on the scene say the tractor trailer hit a guardrail and ended up in a wooded area off I-75 southbound, near the Hardeman Avenue exit. The crash is blocking one lane of traffic.
