Interim Chairman Appointed for Macon Water Authority Board

Dr. R. Kirby Godsey has been appointed as the Interim Chairman of the Macon Water Authority. Godsey is Chancellor and former President of Mercer University and the unanimous recommendation of the remaining MWA Board members.

Probate Judge Bill Self told WGXA, “Surely, no one in Macon and Bibb County could reasonably challenge Dr. Godsey’s qualifications and leadership abilities.”

Godsey told Self, in accepting the appointment that he was “willing to serve during this interim time out of his deep respect for Frank Amerson.”

Godsey will take office at the next regular meeting of the MWA Board.
