Inmates Escape From Eastman Work Detail

The search continues for two escaped Bleckley County inmates
Captain Tony Winborn tells NewsCentral Dodge County authorities are still searching from two prisoners who walked away from a work detail Thursday afternoon.
According to felony escape warrants, Bleckley County Probation Detention Center inmates Michael Louren Chatman and Jimmy Lee Gray walked away from the detail on Dodge Avenue in Eastman.
If you have information on the whereabouts of Chatman or Gray, call the Dodge Sheriff's office at 478-374-8131.

No they dony have guns so its easy to blame the guards but what he or she suppose to do

"True story" I accept your apology,however I wish the public understood that not everything is public information and sometimes we are just too busy and shorthanded to appoint someone a spokesperson for the DOC. If we really thought that the general public was at danger we would have said so. As for picking up hitch-hikers, that's a foolish thing to do with ANYONE these days. As for stealing, breaking and entering...people do that EVERY day, so why would you let your guard down at anytime, for anyone. Everyone should lock their home and vehicle doors every night. Everyone should treat their safety as a number one concern at ALL times. It's not rocket science.

Ok anonymous and GA C.O. first off, my sincere apologies.... No joke however true enough yes they are not violent criminals nor considered a (threat). However serious business speaking for myself only I feel as if maybe I/we have been failed as a citizen(s). Simply put I'm not violent but backed into a corner human nature says survive. Now on the other hand these guys could steal, break and enter, or even worse just to survive. I do suppose I should have been less sarcastic with my comments though for that I apologize. I have many good friends as c.o.'s, p.o.'s, leo's, and even higher up. Basically we should have been notified better pictures would have been nice, shoot I could have easily given them a lift thinking these are good guys just broke down somewhere. I hope you understand my point. If not I hope my fellow citizens at least do!

Jerry to answer your question,neither probationer is considered dangerous...they were minimum security with less than a year sentence...they just bought themselves 5 years for escape. They are not believed to be in the area at all, they were probably picked up, but to be on the safe side we brought in dogs and officers anyway just to be thorough. I love the community support though, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know we try to protect people like "true story"

When you get done being sarcastic, you will realize that the GA Dept of Corrections was using Flash Foods as a base point to meet. We had over 50 officers searching for these two individuels.

They longer allow guards to carry guns on work details. Basically all they can do is say " Stop or I'll say Stop again" They have left the officers with no resources or protection.

Dont the guards have guns , if they try to escape shoot them end of story. What were the guards doing when they walked away ?

What about pictures and names so at least people who get on here know who they are if they are seen? How Dangerous?
