I-16 traffic stop results in drug arrests, nine pounds of pot

A December 4th traffic stop along I-16 leads to the arrest of two people.

Macon Police Narcotics Unit officers stopped a black Chevrolet Malibu traveling east on I-16 heading to Wrightsville, Georgia. The officer smelled marijuana coming from the driver, Zakeius Battle.

An investigation revealed that Battle and passenger Kimberly Smith had in their possession a blue bag containing 9 large bags of marijuana weighing over 9 lbs. with a street value of approximately $9,100.

33 year-old Zakeius Battle was arrested and charged with following too close and possession of marijuana with Intent. This is his first Bibb County arrest.

Also arrested was 29 year-old Kimberly Smith. She was charged with being present where drugs are kept or sold. This is her first Bibb County arrest.
