Housekeeper finds body in North Macon hotel room

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a Forsyth man who was found in a hotel room in north Macon around 11:20a.m. Wednesday morning.

31-year-old Phillip Scott Fountain from Forsyth was found lying in his bed by a housekeeper at America's Best Inn on Holiday Drive North. Lieutenant Sean DeFoe says there were no signs of foul play at the time that Fountain’s body was found, but the Bibb Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate the incident.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says the body will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. The next of kin has been notified by Coroner Jones.
