Missing Man Last Seen in Bibb County Found in Valdosta

A man reported missing while traveling from Michigan to Florida, last seen in Bibb County, has been found in Valdosta.

The good news came just after 3 a.m. Sunday morning.

Roger Dehaan tells investigators that he caught a ride with someone from the Waffle House on Chambers Road in Macon and was dropped off in Valdosta.

The case originated out of Highland County, Florida. The Highland County Sheriff's Office reported that 80-year-old Roger Lawrence Dehaan was traveling from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Lake Placid, Florida. Family and friends had contact with Dehaan via cell phone until Thursday afternoon when he stopped in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dehaan contacted the Bibb County Sheriff's office Friday night to report that his Green 2002 Chevrolet Silverado had been stolen from the Golden Corral parking lot at Presidential Parkway.

Dehaan stated he went to the Waffle House on Chambers Road after his vehicle was reported stolen.

Dehaan was found unharmed and was awaiting family members from Florida to pick him up.
