Healthy Living: Drink Wine for Good Health

Experts now say red wine can be as good for your health as it is to your palate.
In this Healthy Living report, why there are now even more reasons to enjoy a glass of vino at your next meal.

Wine has long been known to make you heart healthy, but it now might help you lose weight, reduce forgetfulness, boost your immunity, and help prevent bone loss. Bill Nettleton says people are starting to pay attention to wine's benefits.

“We have customers come in and say my doctor has told me that I need to drink red wine, it will help my heart. There is a lot of good compounds in red wine . “
Researchers have also recently found that red wine may help stop breast cancer cells from growing, a fact that is not lost on Breast cancer Survivors Chris Prickett and Pamela Appling.

Chris Prickett: “I like the way it tastes! It makes me relax, I like the different wines, different wines do different things. I like red wine. “

Pamela Appling: “Pretty good. Now I have a reason to get tipsy over the weekend. “

Portia Lake: Most of the wine research has been done regarding moderate wine drinking, which the American Heart Association Defines as 1-2 four ounce glasses of wine a day.

Studies also show that these moderate wine drinkers also have narrower waists and less abdominal fat than people who drink liquor.

Bill Nettleton/Owner Winestyles: “We have older folks that are in their older twenties that are drinking wine it just seems to be more of a fad. They are moving away from liquor and beer onto wine. “

And here’s one more reason to enjoy your evening glass of wine.
Moderate drinkers have a 30 percent less risk than nondrinkers of developing type two diabetes and about a 50 percent less risk of a blood clot related stroke.
