“Nothing will be able to put this to rest. Nothing… I guess I’m mad because I have to live like this.” –Gerri Ann Moss/Victim’s Mother and Wife
Gerri Moss wears her emotions on her sleeves Monday as she remembers the day fate took control of her life.
“It’s such a great loss to society and I just remember them being so kind and sweet and they always always always were thinking of others.” –Gerri Ann Moss/Victim’s Mother and Wife
The stronger than most mother of Kristin and Bryan, and wife of Steven Moss emotionally recalls the kindness of her children and the impact her family had on others.
Twelve years after their death, people are still working hard to remember the Moss family in every way possible, even if it isn’t always easy.
“Kristin was beautiful, popular athletic. Bryan was, just, he was my best friend, protector, he protected everyone, he was just everyone's friend, and Steven made you laugh.” –Rebecca Nobel/Family Friend
On the eve of the scheduled execution of one of her family’s killers, Gerri says she’s letting the poison out of her system, and receiving lots of love and comfort from community members.
“They're giving back the love that they received from us, and it’s beautiful.” –Gerri Ann Moss/Victim’s Mother and Wife
A candle light memorial will be hosted by friends of the Moss family, Rebecca Noble and Donya Dupree. They ask that everyone bring their own candle and join them in front of the Jones County Court House in Carrol’s Park Tuesday evening. Gerri Moss will remain at her California home during the memorial, and Brandon Rhode’s execution.

I'm for the death penalty. I have to wonder what went so wrong in this young man's life at such a young age to do something so horrific. Parents, quit creating such animals. Love and give your children structure so they don't turn out like Brandon.

We stop supporting these violent offenders. We stop housing them with taxpayer dollars. We do as the bible says in Numbers 35:16. We let the survivors heal and give them comfort. We pray that the bleeding hearts never have to suffer the pain the survivors have to live every day of thier lives. We pray taht the politicians that keep these violent offenders on the taxpayer "payroll" will ultimately see the error of thier ways.

Life in prision vs. Death Penalty.... hmmm.... in THIS case, execution is warranted due to the way the killer(s) acted before, during AND AFTER their acts. Escpaing from jail (thankfully recaptured) once would only give them another chance to escape again and/or harm an officer or someone else. Rid them from earth.

Anyone who seriously studies the death penalty in the U.S. knows that there have been a horrifying number of people wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death. We read regularly of people in prison for decades who are cleared incontrovertibly by DNA evidence. No one with a commitment to justice and a familiarity with the facts believes that we can have the death penalty without innocent men being executed. This is not the case in the Rohde case but you can't have the death penalty without mistakes. If you haven;t heard murderers express remorse, c freeman, you REALLY haven't been trying. There are a lot of sociopaths in prison but also a lot of men who were lost to drugs, rage, ignorance, etc. in youth who have matured and feel enormous remorse. And for those who want to torture (half-hangings, burning at stake)? Get some help. You've crossed over into sadism. It's a dangerous place.

C freeman - how is it that you are so sure that Brandon did not speak directly to Ms Moss on multiple occasions? Because you have never heard of it that is reason enough to state it never happens? I can garuntee that Ms Moss has and in doing so agreed to tell brandons clemency board that she did not wish him to die. So this is yet another case of people judging with out knowing all the facts.

Their actions have had a ripple effect. I know first hand what it has done to every member of the family. They forfeited their right to breathe the moment they took the breath from Bryan, Kristin, and Steve's lungs. I just wish GA would make an exception and allow halfhangings or a good old fashion burning at the stake for them.

The only thing that guarantees these people wont harm others again is the death penalty. Anyone who is against it should spend some time looking into the cases of the people who get it, see what they've done, then see what you think. Life in prison only gives them time to think about how to escape, which plenty of them do, and harm others again. There is just a certain point where the safety of our society, the safety of YOUR family is more moral than not killing these killers. I used to be against the death penalty but I used to be ignorant to the facts of who, what, and when.

Im not sure about the morality of putting someone to death, but what do you do with this type of animals who kill innocent people in their homes, children? I can tell U their are a lot of people in prison for murder, but I NEVER heard one express sympathy for the victims family, their victim or any expression of regret. Oh, they may get in front of the parole board and express it, but in their everyday life, they just keep taking, in the prisons, the ones that have life, get the best of everything there, treat others like they owe them something, push people around and get by with it. So I don't knw what the answer if for animals like these two, when a dog attacks an innocent or not so innocent human, he is put to death. SO BE IT.
