"This is a busy area and there's a lot of kids." -Alysia Belvin
Alysia Belvin still finds it all hard to believe...
A Houston County fire truck hits and knocks down her mailbox. After calling 911 to report it, she finds out what may have led to the collision.
"The first thing I told my husband was the fireman must was drunk." -Alysia Belvin
Georgia State Troopers say 23 year old Jordan Bouley was the fireman behind the wheel.
More outrageous, he was en route to Trinity United Methodist Church to talk public safety with kids.
Troopers say Bouley failed a breathalyzer test.
He was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence, failure to maintain lane, hit and run, and violation of probation, for a previous DUI.
I asked several Houston County Residents if they felt Bouley should be terminated if the charges turn out to be true, (here's what they had to say)
"That's a hard decision. It just depends on the situation. But if he was drinking and driving? Yeah."
"He should be charged...and if he was driving a fire truck while on duty, he shouldn't have been drinking."
I spoke with Houston Fire Chief Jimmy Williams.
He says the department has a no tolerance policy against the use of drugs or alcohol while on duty. Bouley is currently on unpaid administrative leave and is likely to be fired.
