Funeral arrangements for former Warner Robins City Councilman Tom Simms, Jr. have been announced.

Visitation is set for Friday from 1 to 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. Simms will be buried at Parkway Memorial Gardens.

Simms was found dead in his home Tuesday when he didn't show up for work. The one-term councilman was 56-years-old.

Houston County Coroner Danny Galpin says autopsy results for Simms could take a few months. Galpin says it's common for a body to be sent to the state crime lab when prescription meds are found in a residence. A toxicology test has been ordered.

Warner Robins Mayor Chuck Shaheen said in a statement Wednesday that Councilman Simms was "very instrumental in moving the city forward and was a devoted friend to all the constituents that he served."
