Funeral Procession for Putnam County Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

The body of a slain Putnam County soldier is expected to return home.
The Putnam County sheriff's office escort will leave the Greensboro airport Wednesday morning with the body of Erica Alecksen.
The processional will be going up Highway 44 to Eatonton, staying straight onto Sumter Avenue, turning right on Madison Avenue, circling around the front of the courthouse, and then exiting left onto Jefferson Avenue.
It will then proceed along Jefferson Avenue to the Great Hall at the United Methodist Church.
Erica Alecksen's body will lie in state in First United Methodist Church from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
A memorial service will be held later at 6:30 p.m. that evening.
