One of the victims from last week's double homicide in Macon is laid to rest on Saturday.

Hundreds piled into Kings Chapel Baptist Church in Macon to say good-bye to a man that many said was taken too soon.

"He had a low profile, he stayed to himself, you know just was a good guy," family friend Hattamae Williams said.

DeUndra Emory or "Pee Roni" as friends and family knew him by, was a victim of a double homicide in Macon last week. Emory's cousin Tameika Cobb said the family is still confused about why this happened.

"We have no clue, no clue at all,” Cobb said. “That's still a question still unanswered."

However, they hope their questions will soon be answered after Macon Police recently arrested and charged Rodney Lowery, 35, with the murder of Emory and Antonio Fluellen. Even though the alleged shooter has been caught, Williams said it will still take time to process his sudden death.

"I talked to him the night before, he told me he was going to the hospital with his mama and he was going to run to a friend's house and he was than going to her,” she said. “I feel really bad about it."

However, Cobb said the family still finds hope in the fact that the alleged murderer is behind bars.

"The family is happy, you know it's just a bit overwhelming for them but you know, all in all we just want to see justice prevail," Cobb said.
Maybe justice will soon be served, but for now Cobb said the family will miss him.

"(I’m) sad he's gone,” Cobb said. “Going to miss him. I know I am because he always had a joke for me every time he saw me so just going to miss him."

Emory was buried in the cemetery behind King's Chapel.
