TV remote control wards off Milledgeville home invasion suspect

NewsCentral Staff

Milledgeville Police are looking for a suspect wanted in a botched home invasion attempt.

Chief Dray Swicord tells WGXA it happened shortly after midnight Wednesday at a north Clarke Street address. Five people were inside the home, four of them GCSU students.

Swicord says when they answered a knock at the door, the suspect came in, grabbed one of the victims and put him in a headlock with a gun pointed at the victim's head and demanded money. But, when the suspect saw a TV remote control, he may have mistook it as a weapon, fired three shots and ran out of the house leaving in a dark-colored car.

No one was hit and police do have persons of interest. If you have any information, you're asked to contact Detective Kim Khan 478-414-4402.
