A former Northside High School band director has officially been fired from his current position.

Paul Guilbeau, 42, had been suspended with pay by Colquitt County Schools earlier this month for allegedly having consensual sex with a 17-year-old student. The charge of sexual assault by a person with disciplinary authority is a felony issued to people in a position of authority, such as teachers or police who have intercourse with people under their custody, regardless of age or consent.

Colquitt County Schools, today, confirmed Guilbeau’s termination from Colquitt County High School to WGXA.

Houston County Schools Spokeswoman, Beth McLaughlin, says no such allegations or incidents were reported during his tenure as band director of Northside High School.
