Five Escape Putnam County House Fire

Five people escaped an early Monday morning house fire in Putnam County.

The fire broke out around 5:45 Monday morning at a home on Madison Road in Eatonton. Two adults and three children were inside the home. All escaped with minor to severe injuries.

Two young girls were taken to a local hospital and released, but the two adults and a six year old were sent to the Augusta Burn Center. No word yet on their current condition.

The fire has been ruled accidental. Investigators believe a computer power cord may have ignited the blaze.
