Henry Ficklin Joins District #2 Race

Macon City Councilman Henry Ficklin announced his candidacy for the District #2 seat of the new consolidated government before supporters at Macon City Hall Tuesday. Ficklin joins fellow councilman Larry Schlesinger in the race for position.
Ficklin, who is in his second stint as councilman of Ward 3 Post 2 says he will bring experience to the new government.
"The new consolidated government offers some advantages as well as some challenges," said Ficklin. "But as I bring experience to government, I think that it is best that people with experience serve in this new government. The government may be new but the issues have not gone away."
Ficklin is also vice-chairman of Macon's Public Works and Engineering.
