Fatal Crash In Macon Under Investigation

A Warner Robins man is dead after a collision with a long haul truck in Macon Friday morning.

78-year-old Willie Evans Sr. was pronounced dead on the scene at the 43-hundred block of Pio Nono Avenue around 7 Friday morning.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones tells WGXA an 18-wheeler pulled out in front of Evan's 2011 Cadillac SDS.

It took responders nearly an hour to remove the victim’s body from the car.

Pio Nono Avenue was closed from the I- 75 exit to Guy Payne Road for more than two hours as responders cleaned up the scene and investigators gathered evidence.

No other injuries were reported.
