Family First: Made 2B More Gets New Space

Michelle Quesada

It's the organization that teaches girls to 'be more' just as its name suggests. After six years in the works, Made 2B More finally has it's own place to call home.

"This building is going to help us tremendously because now that we have one general location we are able to open up our workshops to more people in the community at large and to offer more services to them at various times of the day," says Rhonda Mincey, President and CEO, Made 2B More.

Made 2B More will have weekly tutoring sessions and workshops that help the girls on etiquette, communication, self-esteem, and leadership. The organization was operating out of CEO Rhonda Mincey's home that last few sessions, but Made 2B More is onto greater things this season.

This new facility will not only be a second home for girls ages 11 through 18 but Made 2B More will also having sessions for the moms.

"We are going to have moms just like myself to come out and share common issues goals, dreams, have fun, we're going to have dinner, we're going to play games we're going to interact bring in a speaker. It's going to one night for the moms to leave the blackberries at home, and the laundry list and we just let our hair down and enjoy each other," says Mincey.

With donated tiles from Home Depot and help from numerous volunteers, Made 2B More's headquarters is ready for a new 9-month season of shaping girls into phenomenal women.

"We've had great response and we're excited about other girls coming aboard and really learning who they're made to be," says Mincey.

The organization takes on 20 to 25 girls every 9 months and the cost is 180 dollars per girl to participate. For more information on Made 2B More click on our news links tab.
