Falling Tree Kills Two Jasper County Men

Two Jasper County men are dead after an unusual crash.

According to Corporal Eric Wilkes of the Georgia State Patrol, the two died Thursday afternoon when a large pine tree fell on their truck.

The accident happened on Highway 280 near Railroad Street.

The driver, 20-year-old Jonathan Bell of Monticello died at the scene. 19-year-old Kevin Camp of Shady Dale was pronounced dead at the hospital.

There's no word yet on just what caused the tree to fall.
