Fallen soldier's father dies unexpectedly weeks after daughter's funeral

Family members who laid their daughter, Army Specialist Erica Alecksen, to rest on July 18th have suffered another loss.
Erica's father, Lars Alecksen, died Tuesday night at his Central Road home. Lars reportedly suffered chest pains and shortness of breath. Our media partner The Telegraph reports the Alecksen's 16-year-old son performed CPR on his father but could not save him.
A family member says Lars had been reclusive since Erica's funeral and took her death very hard. The symptoms are similar to a heart attack, but Lars' body will undergo an evaluation to determine an official cause.
Bernard's Funeral Home is handling service arrangements planned for later this week.
