Employee outlines terrifying moments during Nu-Way robbery

NewsCentral Staff

A fast-food employee says she was terrified after a gunman robbed the restaurant where she works.

It happened Tuesday at the Nu-Way hotdog restaurant on Bloomfield Road in Macon. Nikki Rice, a store employee, spoke exclusively to WGXA. She says an armed robber wearing a ski mask walked into the store, pointed a gun at employees and demanded cash. Rice says she was afraid someone would be shot.

"He turned the gun on me and the other worker as the manager got the money, as in saying if she didn't get the money, he would shoot us and then he ran out the back door. I thought that he was going to shoot my manager," said Rice.

Rice describes the armed robber as 5-feet-11 inches to six feet tall with a thin build. It's unknown how much money the man got away with.

Police are still investigating.
