Driver's looking to renew their license are being reminded of a new law that requires more documentation.
On July 1st, the Georgia Department of Driver Services introduced new guidelines designed to improve the integrity and security of your driver's license and identification card.
Long lines have been reported all around the state of Georgia as a result. One driver NewsCentral spoke with said the state is creating a bigger hassle than needed.
"They're making it complicated to get your driver's license or renew a license. I think it should be convenient for anybody to get their driver's license as long as they're following the rules and regulations," said Sherley Abram.
As a reminder, paperwork needed for a driver's license application and renewal are at least one document to prove your primary identity, one document to prove your social security number, and two documents to prove your residential address.
